Candle Care
A well-cared-for candle burns longer, cleaner, and more beautifully. Follow these simple steps to enjoy your Sunday Edition candle safely and to its fullest potential.
How to Burn Your Candle
1. Let it melt evenly
Allow the wax to melt completely across the surface, especially during the first burn. Short burns under 2 hours may cause tunneling and reduce the candle’s lifespan.
2. Trim the wick each time
Before every burn, trim your wick to ¼ inch. This ensures a clean, steady flame and helps prevent soot or flickering.
3. Burn on a heat-safe surface
For tapers and pillars, always use a heat-resistant plate to catch natural dripping wax. Never place candles on or near flammable materials such as linens or paper.
4. Keep the wax pool clean
Remove wick trimmings, matches, or debris from the wax. This ensures an even, safe burn.
5. Avoid drafts
Open windows, fans, or AC vents can cause uneven melting, dripping, or smoking. Place your candle in a stable, draft-free area.
6. Follow safe burn times
Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Stop burning when only ¼ inch of wax remains.
7. Handle with care
Glass containers become very hot during use. Do not move, touch, or relight the candle until the vessel has cooled completely.
8. Never leave a candle unattended
Always keep candles within sight and extinguish them before leaving the room. Keep away from children and pets.
